Horticulture highlights May Community Night Programs

The Lunenburg County School System will continue its Community Night Programs during the month of May with Technology, Spanish, Horticulture and walking.

The programs take place Tuesday nights, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Lunenburg Middle School. While walking sessions will continue through the spring and summer months, yoga classes have been postponed until the fall.
New horticulture classes began in April, and organizers hope more local ‘gardeners’ will join in and polish their green thumbs with new ideas and tips to spruce up their yards.

Upcoming horticulture classes will include such things as Vegetable Gardening - Site and Species Selection and Soil Preparation on May 12, and Common Vegetable Diseases - Steps for Prevention and Treatment on May 26. Other specific class categories will be announced at a future date.

Horticulture classes take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

Beginner Spanish programs will be offered through Rosetta Stone on the computers. There will computer assistance available, and the program is extremely ‘user friendly.’
